Dr. Friedman earned her doctorate from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and is an award winning professor in the College of Education at Towson University. She has published and presented internationally on development within the K-12 setting against the backdrop of grit, growth mindset, and the gift of failure. She enjoys exploring topics within neuroeducation and social psychology. Dr. Friedman publishes a parenting blog and is a children’s book author; she’s presented professional development workshops in schools, has served as a manuscript reviewer for academic education journals and has served as a discussion panel editor for JHU – making her a valuable and relatable resource for both parents and teachers in the quest for thinking critically about the evolution of the parent/child and teacher/student relationship. Dr. Friedman is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. She has a black belt in martial arts, a pilot’s license, and enjoys competing in triathlons. Dr. Friedman is inspired daily by her husband and three children who she loves hiking with in her free time.
