Dr. Barbara Lauer-Listhaus 382 382 Aliza Seidman

Dr. Barbara Lauer-Listhaus completed a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and post-doctoral training in Adolescent and Adult Neuropsychology at the International Center for the Disabled in New York City. She works with children, adolescents and adults facing a wide range of mental health issues in her private practice in Hackensack and Livingston, New Jersey.

In 2001, Dr. Lauer-Listhaus was instrumental in developing an inclusive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She currently serves as a consultant for several organizations, and is on the Board of Yeshiva University Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and LifeTown New Jersey.

Her book, Flavors for Everyone: A Guide to Raising Siblings in a Special Needs Family provides an insider’s view—by a neuropsychologist who is also the mother of a special needs son—into the complex problems that families face when raising children with different abilities and personalities. She lectures internationally on parenting and grandparenting, marital and sibling issues, and the impact of divorce on families. Her book and lectures offer practical solutions for families to implement.

Dr. Lauer-Listhaus is the mother of four adult children and has four grandchildren.
