Rabbi Avrohom Lipszyc, is the spiritual leader of The Jewish Center – Chabad of Miami, founder and director of The Jewish Mind, published author, lecturer and international speaker. Rabbi Lipszyc received his ordination at Chabad Lubavitch’s Central Yeshivah, Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch -770. As a Rabbinical Student, he was sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to serve the Jewish community of Caracas, Venezuela, for two years, after which he was sent to Kiev, USSR, in 1990, to help establish a Higher Jewish Studies Center, and to San Jose, Costa Rica, to run a children’s camp.
At the tender age of 13, Avrohom went to Los Angeles, California for High School, where he was introduced to the caring, loving, and embracing outreach work of the Rebbe. His involvement with Senior Homes, Addiction Rehabilitation Centers, Correction Facility Outreach, and Public School Wednesday Hour, set the foundation for what would become Rabbi Lipszyc’s hallmark of respect, love, and willingness to learn from, and to teach, everyone, regardless of age, background, affiliation or persuasion. After High school, Avrohom went on to begin his Higher Judaic Studies in Israel, having his first experience of a hands-on love for his country, its people, and its young men and women who protected their land.
Upon marriage, Rabbi Lipszyc established the Chabad Center of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, serving and educating the Courthouse on Jewish matters. After which he was brought into the Rabbinical College, Yeshivah Gedolah Lubavitch of Miami Beach, as a lecturer and as a personal mentor for its students.
However, Rabbi Lipszyc’s heart remained to the service of the greater community, embracing the wider spectrum of society, in which the secular, religious, Jewish, gentile, atheist and agnostic represented the full rainbow of G-d’s children.
It wasn’t long until Rabbi Lipszyc’s talent was recognized in his blending Torah and psychology as one, in fully embracing G-d’s gift of knowledge and sensitivity to mankind. Hence, his guiding light became the Chassidic teachings of being a Knowing Heart, bringing the timeless teachings of Judaism to our world of modernity.
